I gotta get this off my chest. It's been a long and horrid day and i'm in a bloody foul mood.

Day started off as usual. me dragging myself out of bed for work. except this is a saturday and Jeremy and i went for Bak Chor Mee until quite late last night. so naturally, i'm tireder and crabbier than usual. I get into a cab to take me to my workplace for today and the aunty (yar .. aunty cab driver) turns back to me and goes "you know how to go?". So i give my directions as well as my poor navigation sense allows and i happen to get to my destination in time, while flushing $16 down the toilet.

So then i go check if all my posters have made it through the night ... they were alright ... at that point. The booth next to me sold toys and apart from the sellers, there were a couple of kids running about the damn place. So i do my best to ignore them. It doesn't help that everytime they walk past my booth they peer over to see what's happening at my booth (nothing), what's changed from my table (nothing) and what i'm doing (the same damn thing i was since the last time they looked). And since roadshows are boring, i whip out my laptop to get some games settled. So kids being kids buay paiseh, come up behind me and watch. And they're eating Cheezles .... i'm okay with Cheezles. Love em to bits. But dont let those grubby little fingers near my (almost) completely white laptop!! esp since the keys have just been changed and really ARE completely white. and i knew it was a matter of time before they spoke the 3 dreaded words "can i play?" I CAN'T SAY NO!!?!?! not while they're mother is looking!! so before they could formulate the words, i closed my laptop and resorted to reading my book and wasting my smses with Jeremy when i could have been msn-ing him. I swear it's kids like that that make me not wanna have any of my own.

And while avoiding the idiots from the ADD asylum, this damn bloody poster kept dropping!!! and every time i dropped, i went to put it back up. To the point where i got so bloody fed up, i just couldn't be bothered to put it up anymore, i just rested it on the board. Thinking i was finally rid of that problem, i get back to my book (and ignoring the brats). But of course, that's never the case. every few minutes, someone comes up to me and goes "hey .. your poster drop already" and i smile and say "ya .. i know .. i put it there cos it keeps dropping" when i really want to scream "I KNOW!! I PUT IT THERE!!" but i can't cos these people mean well. *grumbles*

So apparently my relief was supposed to take over at 2.30 (i thought it was either 3 or 4) and she DID show up but had other stuff to do so i had to sit there until 4. from 10-4. i was just sitting there doing NOTHING. And i called her when i REALLY had to go cos i have other things to attend to then she comes and relieves me. kool.

Since i was sitting there for 6 hrs without eating anything, i as farrrkkiinggg STARVING!!!! so i went across the road to buy smth from 7-11 that i can eat in the cab while going to church. Nothing looks worth buying so i settle for the mashed potato. When i got into the cab, i took it out, ready to tuck in when i realised that the idiotic aunty behind the counter forgot to give me a spoon. ************************************************!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! was what came to mind. the censored version goes smth like "HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO EAT THAT!!!!???! WITH MY FINGERS??? WITH MY TONGUE!!??!?!?! POUR IT DOWN MY THROAT AND HOPE IT LANDS WHERE IT SHOULD AND DOESN'T SCALD ME ALL THE WAY DOWN?!?!?!??! FRIKKIN HELL!!!" never mess with me when i'm hungry.

And marvelously, there. was. a jam. yay! *clapps* I made it to church 10 mins late. (and ANOTHER $17 down the ma tong). I grab my file and take my place in the choir onli to have bitches turning to me saying "here got someone standing" even though i go "yar. me." they still say "nono .. my sister is standing here" I end up reshuffled to the back. And even then someone else goes "nono .. back to crowded already" and shuffles other people to the front and that ends up with the conductor (and pastor) saying she can't see the pianist. And ALL of them motherfuckers looking at me like "see what we're doing just for you??? why couldn't you have come earlier!??? nooooo .. we're not judging yoU!!??" like i'm REALLY that unimportant to them that NO ONE could have said "oh no .. Caili standing here" or like even if they didn't know my name "SOMEONE standing here" would have sufficed. No wonder when they call for combined choir no one wants to go. I'm bloody impressed by their voices but they've disappointed me tremendously in the people department. They just dont give a fuck.

Walking home, some kid thinks it's funny to ring his bicycle bell at me (even though i'm walking at the side of the walkway that he's not supposed to be cycling on - it's called a WALKway for a frikkin reason) so i refuse to turn around. so he rings and rings and rings and rings like macham he thinks he's in charge of the school bell. then when he rides past me he turns around hoping to get some cheeky grin in somehow. Tough luck. I give him the meanest blackest glare my whole day has contributed to and he nearly falls off his bike. That. made. my day. :)

i remember making a comment when i was in year 1 of my pursuit of a mass communications diploma. I said that Mass comm is like Survivor. it's about control and power among your peers. after i've graduated (for quite some time) i realise that i wasn't wrong. Looking at the receipients of the Diplomas of Merit, i see that it's full of Richard Hatchs (sneaky conniving backstabbing SOBs), Ethan Zohns (loyal all round nice guy - the most deserving of the lot) and Vecepia Towerys (carried-all-the-way mofos). but it doesn't matter what kind of people they are, in the end, they're the ones with the million dollars in the bank. And all the rest of us can do is hope to be a Rob and Amber - either excel when competing with the same people in a different place and time, or marry a fucking millionaire.

There's a line in the book "Shadow of the Wind" that goes like something like this "Some parents believe their children are a disappointment to them. None have stopped to think that maybe they're a disappointment to their children." something like that. i already know what mine are. Stuff that's been happening the past few weeks have drudged up memories of the past 20 years. It just makes me think - Parents and family are supposed to make you feel good about yourself right? then why do mine keep doing the exact opposite.

WHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! i know i haven't blogged (voxed?) in yonks. but here's a really brief update on what's been happening in my life. First off, i recently celebrated my birthday at a chalet ... invited tons of pple but htey all pang seh .. and in a way it's really great cos the pple who showed up are the awesomest friends ever. :)) never gonna book a chalet for my birthday EVER AGAIN cos considering i was the birthday girl i was more of less stressing out over every bloody thing. ugh. never again. and on an even darker note .. i'm officially tenteen. :( but thanks to everyone who came down .. make turning tenteen less tenteeny. hahahahah .. i'm bullshitting at this point. hahahaha .. have been spending the past few months hanging out with the usual people, Angeline, Davio, Jeremy, the rugby guys and of course Xavier - who's always been there for whatever and whenever ... so yeahh .. awesome stuff. Not so awesome in the job searching side though, i've been sending resumes out but no one seems to be getting back to me ... and due to various email problems, i don't know if anyone has tried to .. no one called my handphone though that's for sure .. but i REALLY need a job .. slacking for close to half a year is REALLY tough on the income - especially when there's none. and since i'm practically living off my boyfriend now, i'm getting pretty desperate for a job (even wanted to call Power98 during the mother's Day special and tell them that i wold love to make my mum's day but i need their help - offering me a job there. hahahaha .. but it sucks cos i've sent 2 resumes to them with no reply.) so yeah .. jobs not coming in as easily as i'd've liked it to be, which is terrible cos i really don't liek living off the boyfriend, and especially since his birthday's looming ahead ... wanna get some many things for him but monetary setbacks do not permit that from happening ... :( oh well .. on a better note, we've just gotten past our 13th (as Meiting would call it) "monthary" together and we're still craaazzzyyyy about each other. so that's like happyhappyhappyhappyhaappyyy!!!! haHAHAahAHAH a... *grins like a moronic something and jumps about like a hyped up something else* hahahah .. well .. other stuffs that's been happening is not to me but to some other people that are really dear to me ... i won't say what cos it's their stuff to deal with themselves ... oh well .. that's my life so far. pretty dreary huh. if you think it's boring reading it. try living it. ugh. blth. till next time. :))
